Description: A very popular Web server. According to Netcraft (http://www.netcraft.com/survey/), Apache is used on more than 56% of Internet Web servers. The Apache Group explains: "The Apache Project is a collaborative software development effort aimed at creating a robust, commercial-grade, featureful, and freely available source code implementation of an HTTP (Web) server". It is mostly UNIX-oriented. Source code as well as pre-compiled binaries for a variety of platforms are available from their Web site http://www.apache.org.
